Designed with their safety and comfort in mind, it features clear glass walls, minimal bedding, and toys to maintain a hygienic environment and minimize the risk of virus and disease transmission. This space is intentionally kept small yet ample to ensure that they feel safe and secure without being overwhelmed by a large, open area. We purposefully avoid cat condos with hiding spots to encourage kittens to observe their surroundings and begin socializing by hearing and seeing what goes on outside their isolation area. From our experience, this is the optimal way to introduce any kitten to a new environment. Kittens will stay under observation here for a week to ensure they are healthy and illness-free, and to acclimatise to our cattery environment. During this time, we also gradually transition them to the food we provide, which may differ from what they were fed by their breeders. This is where they spend most of their time preparing for their eventual journey home with their new pawrents. To further enrich their experience, doors are opened during certain times of the day for them to venture to the back of our cattery. This freedom to roam encourages them to gradually expand their territory and helps build their confidence and adventurousness. This visual interaction helps the younger kittens become more sociable and less fearful of adult cats and unfamiliar felines. We believe in the importance of socialising our kittens with older, friendly, and calm cats to create positive experiences. Exposure to gentle and sociable older cats fosters confidence and reduces fear. This socialisation is crucial, especially for potential pawrents who already have existing cats at home.
